An Interesting Round of Ron Paul Commentary
I’ll toss them up without comment.
- Andrew Sullivan on the hilarious reactions from the business-as-usual crowd.
- Daniel Larison on the "fear and loathing in conventional Republican circles."
- Daniel Weigel makes NRO’s David Frum look stupid, which judging by this account isn’t too hard to do.
So there you have it.

I'm listening to Nick Gillespie talk about Ron Paul on the radio. One of the callers objected that Ron Paul would let everyone have guns. As though it's up to the current president to "let" us have our constitutional rights. As much good news as I've seen from the Paul campaign, there's still a lot of deeply-rooted ignorance out there. In the long run, I don't know how you combat that.
Jeff,
Did you get the feeling that Gillespie thought support for Paul was stupid?
I can't say I did, John. Gillespie voiced some reservations about Paul, but I didn't think he was attacking Paul's supporters in any way.
By the way, only hours after my bout of pessimism over this, my retired mother called me out of the blue and asked if I'd ever heard of this guy named Ron Paul. She was thinking she'd put his sign in her yard, but she wanted my opinion on him first. She also said _her_ mother, who's only chosen Democrats in 65+ years of voting, was supporting Ron Paul. So maybe there is cause to be optimistic after all.
