Benazir Bhutto

I never for a single second thought that it was anything but insane for her to go back to Pakistan, and figured that either she must be delusional, those advising her are delusional, or there's a whole lot of delusion going around. I heard her give an interview on NPR shortly before her return. I just couldn't get the sense she was thinking straight -- as politics go, of course. This was all confirmed within, what, an hour of setting foot in the country? That should have been her cue to get right back on the plane. The only thing I can figure is that she was going to become a mainstay in Pakistani politics, again, or die trying. Well, what can I say? I'd classify today's news as the most unsurprising news of the year.
