Stephan, whom I link to and quote more than any other blogger, has received his Ph.D. in neurobiology. He has been a tremendous help to me in my quest to learn more about nutrition, both in blogging and through the email exchanges we’ve had over the last year.

Congratulations.

    “Knowledge is Power”

These wise words were spoken by non other than the esteemed advocate of the scientific revolution, Sir Francis Bacon. That's right, Bacon, as in one of our favorite foods (for paleos and others). How appropriate.

It is also said that “There is strength in numbers.”

Thanks to the whole group (Richard and company) for furthering the cause of wise lifestyle and diet choices. We are collectively gaining in numbers and in knowledge.

I am not an academic though many in my family are. I know somewhat how arduous the attainment of a doctorate can be so I say to Dr. Stephan, hearty congratulations. It's good to know that our movement is gaining strength through the accomplishments of people like yourself and the tireless advocacy of people like Richard.

    Power to the Paleos!

“Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.”

      Another famous Bacon quote.

Congrats, Dr. Stephan. Your site has been the most informative website, for paleo science. It separates the wheat from the chaff. Anybody know a more paleo friendly idiom. Indians have one “To separate the milk from the water”, which is probably more paleo friendly.

Unable to post on your site. blogger.com is restricted. I can read it but not post on it :-(. The policy seems to have changed just today.

robertchon, “knowledge is power” actually is traceable back to Socrates.
he predate bacon by some thousands of years.
i do not know where you get “esteemed advocate of the scientific revolution ” from.
when bacon was writing science as we know it did not exist.
he could hardly advocate something that did not exist in his time.

sure bacon had an enquiring and sceptical mind, essential for a scientist, but i doubt he could ever be described as an advocate for “the scientific revolution”.

by the way when did the “scientific revolution ”
    start?

About FreeTheAnimal

I'm Richard Nikoley. Free The Animal began in 2003 and as of 2020, has 5,000 posts and 120,000 comments from readers. I blog what I wish...from lifestyle to philosophy, politics, social antagonism, adventure travel, nomad living, location and time independent—"while you sleep"— income, and food. I intended to travel the world "homeless" but the Covid-19 panic-demic squashed that. I've become an American expat living in rural Thailand where I've built a home. I celebrate the audacity and hubris to live by your own exclusive authority and take your own chances. [Read more...]
