The Primal Blueprint Push

One of the more rewarding aspects of this whole health & fitness venture and blogging about it has been making so many friends amongst other bloggers. What you may not always be aware of is some of the "back chatter" that goes on from time-to-time.

One of those fellow blogger, email buddies is Mark Sisson of Mark’s Daily Apple. And I’m here today to lend a hand with a very worthy goal Mark has set for himself. Mark is offering an amazing deal for anyone who purchases a copy of his most excellent book, The Primal Blueprint: Reprogram your genes for effortless weight loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy, from Amazon, but you have to do it today!

Mark explains.

Since the release of The Primal Blueprint readers like you have helped propel my book to the top of the book charts; it’s been as high as #4 on the bestselling Health and Fitness list. But I think we can do better. In the next 24 hours I’m looking to push The Primal Blueprint to #1, so I’ve put together an irresistible offer. It’s a win-win situation – you get all kinds of free gifts and get to have a hand in helping spread the word, and I get The Primal Blueprint the sort of exposure it needs to affect real change.

This offer is only available for the next 24 hours. It expires at 12 pm PST on Thursday, March 18.

Mark has delineated an impressive list of incentives for various numbers of copies purchased. Even if you purchase only one copy for yourself, friend, family member or co-worker there’s five bennies Mark is making available to you.

So you get those, you get the book (for only $16.19), you help yourself or the person you give it to, and you help the Primal / paleo / Evolutionary Fitness movement in general by helping to propel this state-of-the-art book to a #1 sales rank which will earn it a lot of publicity on Amazon & elsewhere.

So don’t wait. If ever you were thinking about giving this book out, think of who all that might be and go ahead and get them today.

The Primal Blueprint

Update: If you want to read an extensive, excellent review of the book that just went online today, see my good friend Karen De Coster’s review on Healthy, Moving, Modern Humans – Not Cavemen.

Update 2; 3/17/10, 12:45 PST: As of this update, The Primal Blueprint is now at #3 on Amazon, for all books. Very impressive. Also, I just learned that Dr. Stephan Guyenet at Whole Health Source posted a very positive review of the book today.

Update 3; 13:00 PST: Just hit #2 on Amazon. Let’s help bring it home. I’ve ordered 5 copies so far today. They will be easy to make use of. And also, the price has dropped to $14.84.

What a great deal! I have my own copy, of course, but I think now might be the perfect time to order some more and give a few gifts.

  2. ChrisG on March 17, 2010 at 10:42

Holy smokes – I hit the link & the book has hit #9 on Amazon – among all books! I’m going to pitch it to my Facebook friends, who’ve been following my weight loss.

  3. Aaron Blaisdell on March 17, 2010 at 11:27

The book is now at #4 top books in the ALL BOOKS category! I bought 5 copies that I plan to doll out over the year as gifts to the needy.

    • Richard Nikoley on March 17, 2010 at 11:51

Yep, I ordered five as well.

  4. lynch on March 17, 2010 at 12:16

The price has dropped too! Just $14.84 now.

It’s great to see other bloggers and folk helping Mark out when he, like many, espouse their wisdom and research, for the benefit of so many. Mark put Primal on the map and I fully expect the PB to hit #1 today.

Stephan has a review up too at (his frontpage does not seem to be working at the moment, but links to internal pages seem to work).

  7. Richard Nikoley on March 17, 2010 at 13:06

It just went to #2 on Amazon.

  8. Richard Nikoley on March 17, 2010 at 13:19

I just ordered 5 more copies for a total of 10 on the day. It’s so important in my view to be able to call this a #1 bestseller. Huge credibility boost.

  9. Suzan on March 17, 2010 at 13:43

I ordered 4 of them today through Lew Rockwell’s site to give him a boost as well. I am really hoping it gets to #1 today. That would be awesome for Mark, and for everyone in the Paleo/Primal community.

    • Richard Nikoley on March 17, 2010 at 13:50

Yep, that’s the cool thing. Mark has never been anything but super friendly to me, and this is even before this blog became among the top in popularity. He gave me a guest post when readership wasn’t even a 5th of what it is today.

So, I love returning the favor. Mark is a rare breed when it comes to balancing his supplements business. He’s never pushy, he doesn’t overmarket (like Mercola, for example).

Moreover, I think this really jazzes up the whole movement. What with the recent media exposure…and check this out, courtesy of frequent commenter Don Wiss in email a bit ago…

…and now this, if it hits #1 and we may just be seeing the beginning of this. And so it’s helping me and all the other bloggers out there (Google searches) and it gives you credibility when someone asks you what you’ve done.

“What, haven’t you heard? …’Cause the book is a #1 bestseller. It’s the newest thing.”

      All to the good.

Thanks for the link. I hope Paleo/Primal eating explodes. Think of all the sheeple who might go Paleo and stumble out of their carb stupors. That could change a lot of things.

  10. Laurie on March 17, 2010 at 14:22

Ordered my five today. I plan on donating two to my school media center and give three to friends. Mark is one of the nicest bloggers out there and manages to keep his cool even when crazies come to rant on his forum. He’s kind of the antithesis to you, Richard. Puts a little balance in my life 😉

    • Richard Nikoley on March 17, 2010 at 14:23

Well I suppose every Yin needs a Yang, eh Laurie? 🙂

  11. Organic Gabe on March 17, 2010 at 16:58

I ordered my copy a week ago, but I will now get another one for a friend.

  12. Flying Burrito on March 17, 2010 at 18:38

    Looks good, I think I’ll get…

  13. Flying Burrito on March 17, 2010 at 18:39

it. Joined the Facebook pages too. Cool stuff and great community…

  14. Matt on March 18, 2010 at 13:13

This is off-topic, but MI’s governor Granholm “issued an official proclamation declaring Saturday ‘Michigan Meatout Day.'”

“Granholm’s proclamation, issued at the urging of vegetarian activists, cited the benefits of a plant-based diet and the increasing availability of alternatives to meat and dairy products for vegans and vegetarians.”

Oh yeah, and I bought Mark’s book this morning.

  15. Paul C on March 18, 2010 at 11:55

    I’m in, still at #2.

  16. Ken on March 22, 2010 at 22:25

Man!! I just saw this post, and found this website today AFTER I ordered the book from Barnes&Noble. A couple days late I guess! You guys must have really purchased a ton of books, the reason I didn’t buy from Amazon was that it said 2-3 weeks shipping time as of 1:00pm EST today. I went to B&N and it’s alredy in the mail, should have it tomorrow or Wed. Can’t wait… must get healthy!!
