The NATO Elephant In The Room

My problem with this is the same problem I’ve been having with every “crisis” for years, especially pronounced since 2015 and Trump.

Approved Narrative Only.

Back in the day—even though the media was left and overwhelmingly Democrat—there was only the prevailing narrative. Even to Democrats, the notion of Approved Narrative would have seemed as something straight out of the Soviet Politburo.

And yet here we are, living in a Western time and place that seems so fucking weird, for lack of scientific or social terminology. Who have thought we’d be here in a million years where, because the force of dissenting opinion the biggest tech-platforms for free speech have become the Soviet Politburo? We don’t have words for it because to a man, nobody envisioned it.

…Which tells you something. Dissenting opinion in the ways, strength, and breadth we have it was always there. Before, it was simply edited out and ignored. But when social media came around, all bright eyed about giving everyone a voice, they ended up noticing it was fucking huge and plus: the dissenting voices were far better at conveying their ideas than was the general fucktard scene of leftists and Democrats. They got embarrassed.

The rest is history and here we are.

I recall watching Crossfire on CNN back in the day. A truly great show on both political and social levels. Hannity and Colmes on Fox was also a nice gig (now they have a mascot leftie on some panels…but at least they do that much). Crossfire had some really good stuff. Two hosts, one from the right and one from the left and each had their guests.

Now it does not matter what you personally think about the late great Frank Zappa, but there was a time as early as 1987 when CNN hosted debates like this.

And it was the whole point of it.

Or, how about when in one of their first episodes, they had on a KKK guy, in uniform and all.

Back in the day, shows like this prided themselves on having the umph to take on anyone from any side or fringe.

Nobody, and even the right and its various alt-media don’t really entertain opposition very much. It’s always an endless stream of brown nosers.

And that’s better?

How enlightened we’ve become since the 1980s when life was a bit more rough and feathers got ruffled.

…So to the base point, the narrative now is so one-sided that you have a crescendo of voices rising to actually go to hot war with #2 nuclear power Russia. Watch this. A US Congressman calling for shooting down Russian aircraft, OF COURSE!!!

Where are the dissenting voices? Crickets.

Where are the voices arguing to cut off Ukraine? Crickets.

Where are any voices at all arguing for measures far different from those implemented and others that are proposed? Crickets.

Where’s the Klu Klux Klan and Frank Zappa?

Where’s the segment that at least shows this and suggests that perspectives differ and some things that seem one way to you seem vastly different to others?

In the early 1990s the Soviet Union collapsed to fanfare and it was truly epic.

For whatever reason, NATO could just not leave it alone and you can see that with your own eyes.

To my view, shameful, and it’s 100% Republicans to blame for this. In no right mind or universe was it ever necessary to do this. It was destabilizing every step of the way.

And here we are. So.

This kind of thinking is why I am a subscriber. No one has expressed this ideas as well and few have even had these thoughts.
    Please keep it up.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican Georgia Rep, seems to be the lone voice of dissent getting MSM airtime.

Here’s something I never realized until I listened to a Putin speech…NATO led the attacks on Libya to get rid of Gaddafi in 2011.

My take is that Putin greatly underestimated what it would take to overpower Ukraine and he is in over his head now, looking for a way out. Will he blame his generals and slowly back out, will he pull out the big guns? Either way, Putin and Russia are fucked. IMO.

I think it’s the exact opposite and also, that his only goal was to put himself in a position to sue for peace which is what he wants.

Incidentally, I listen to almost zero of talking head stuff, which all comes right from the mouths of departments of state. Fox News is a fucking laugh jole, for example. ONLY Tucker utters a few discouraging words.

EVERYONE is on the same narrative which means it’s absolutely certain they’re all wrong.

      Just like Covid, for example.

Tim, here’s an example of the sorts of things I listen to instead of talking heads or politicians. Here’s 8 minutes of what I consider Word Perfect.
